What Is Intrinsic Value?

What a company is actually worth

Intrinsic value is what a stock is truly worth based on its future cash flows — independent of what the market currently prices it at. Value investors like Warren Buffett look for stocks trading below intrinsic value (a 'margin of safety'). When the market price is above intrinsic value, the stock is overvalued.
